The football quiz on the map

GeoFootballer is a daily football quiz for anyone who loves the game. Every day brings 5 new football trivia questions about great moments, legendary stadiums and the careers of players and managers. Instead of picking from multiple choice, you drop a pin on the map, because the question is always the same: where did it happen?

How GeoFootballer works

  1. Read the clue: Each question describes a football moment, like a last-minute winner or the birthplace of a World Cup winner.
  2. Drop your pin: The map only shows countries, borders and big rivers, no city names. Tap where you think it happened.
  3. Score points: The closer your pin is to the right spot, the more points you get, up to 100 per question. Then the timed round is waiting with 5 more questions and 30 seconds for each.

From the Premier League to the World Cup

Questions cover the Premier League, the Champions League, World Cups and Euros, famous stadiums, players, managers and legends. That makes GeoFootballer a football map quiz as much as a trivia game: you need to know not just who scored, but where. Play the daily round on your commute, then send the same questions to your mates and see who knows their grounds.

Franz, your host

Your guide through the game is Franz, our mascot: a bearded fan with round glasses, a cap and a black-and-yellow scarf. After every answer he has his say on your pin, sometimes with praise and sometimes with a wink, and at the end of the round he tells you how you got on.

Frequently asked questions

Is GeoFootballer free?
Yes. The daily round with 5 questions and the timed round are free every day, no sign-up and no ads. Playing together with a friend on one phone is free too.
How are the points worked out?
By the distance between your pin and the right spot: the closer you are, the more points you get, up to 100 per question. In the daily round the third question counts double, the fourth and fifth triple. In the timed round you get 30 seconds per question: lock it in within the first 20 seconds and your points are multiplied by 1.5, after that the multiplier drops to 0.5 by the time the clock runs out.
What kind of football trivia is in the quiz?
Everything from the Premier League and the Champions League to World Cups, the Euros, famous stadiums, players and managers. Every question asks where something happened, so instead of multiple choice it is a football map quiz: you answer with a pin.
